The Secretary-General of the ECOWAS Brown Card Insurance Scheme, Mr Winfred Kwasi Dodzih, was among five distinguished industry leaders recognised by the Faculty of Accounting and Finance (FAF) at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), during the inaugural FAF Eminent Achievement Award held on November 13, 2025.
The awards celebrate individuals who have made significant contributions to Ghana’s financial and business landscape while exemplifying leadership, innovation, and professional excellence. Other honourees included Chief Alhassan Andani , Founder of LVSafrica Limited and former CEO of Stanbic Bank Ghana ; Frank Adu Jnr , former Managing Director of CalBank ; and Dr Edward Effah , Chairman of Fidelity Bank Ghana.
The initiative aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry through dialogue, mentorship, and collaboration. Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Isaac Boadi, stated :
“These honorees have not only built successful careers but have also contributed immensely to the development of Ghana’s financial sector and inspired younger professionals.”
A UPSA official noted that the selection of honourees was based on long-standing service of at least 20 years, peer recognition, and alignment with UPSA’s values of scholarship and professionalism. The Faculty added that the award will become an annual event to honour individuals who demonstrate a sustained record of excellence and contribute measurably to Ghana’s economic progress.
