In an unprecedented manner, more than one hundred (100) Delegates from ten (10) National Bureaus of the ECOWAS Brown Card Insurance Scheme massively responded to this major meeting. The countries represented were :

6. Liberia
7. Nigeria
8. Senegal
9. Sierra Leone
10. Togo

Benin, although keen to participate, was ultimately unable to be present for last minute administrative reasons. However, as Chairman of the Arbitration Commission, Benin sent its position on the files submitted for arbitration to the arbitrators.

Due to the current political situation in Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger, these three (03) countries were unable to participate in this first Zone Meeting of the year 2024.

Conclusion

This first Zonal Meeting of the year 2024 was a great success, bringing together a record number of delegates from the National Bureaux of the ECOWAS Brown Card Insurance Scheme.
The discussions and presentations made it possible to make significant progress in the revision of technical texts, thus strengthening cooperation and the effectiveness of the Insurance Scheme within ECOWAS. The meeting concluded on positive notes with clear refereeing decisions and a renewed commitment to the next steps.

We thank all participants for their commitment and contribution to the success of this event. An appointment has been made for the next meetings with the hope of even wider participation.
