Republic of Guinea Officially Launches the Digitalization of ECOWAS Brown Card and Yellow Card Insurance Certificates

The Republic of Guinea has taken a significant step in modernizing its insurance sector by officially launching, in Conakry, the digitalization of Yellow Card and ECOWAS Brown Card automobile insurance certificates. With this initiative, Guinea joins the ranks of countries already engaged in the strategic digital transformation of the regional insurance system.

The launch event was highlighted by an opening ceremony presided over by the Secretary General of the Council of Bureaux, marking a decisive turning point in the 45-year history of the Brown Card System. This shift to digital reaffirms the member states’ commitment to a modern, secure, and efficient regional integration.

A Technological Leap Toward Greater Efficiency

This transition to a digital system brings several tangible benefits :

Real-time issuance and verification of insurance certificates ;

Automated claims processing, ensuring more transparency and faster handling ;

Digital tracking of policies, claims, and anti-fraud measures ;

Seamless data interconnection between ECOWAS National Bureaux.
